Друг главного героя забывает семь тетрадей в местной школе, но не может достать их сам, потому что опоздает на «практику приёма пищи», поэтому просит главного героя принести их. Как только игрок приходит, Балди, один из учителей, задаёт игроку простые математические задачи каждый раз, когда он находят блокнот (по три на книгу), и обещает приз, если он ответит на всё правильно. Балди также очень легко разозлить и, представив игроку неразрешимые математические задачи, он начнёт преследовать его, когда он неизбежно не сможет ответить на него правильно. Главный герой вынужден продолжать искать все остальные тетради, избегая при этом других учеников и различных препятствий. Если игрок решит ответить на каждый вопрос неправильно, он получит альтернативную концовку, которая включает в себя искаженную версию Балди и другого скрытого персонажа, который просит игрока уничтожить игру, прежде чем игра закроется.

Игровой процесс

При любом неправильном ответе на вопрос Балди начнёт гнаться за игроком в гневе, издавая хлопающие звуки удара линейкой об свою руку. Чем больше примеров игрок решит неправильно, тем быстрее Балди будет преследовать игрока. Если Балди поймает игрока, он будет возвращён на титульный экран игры. Игрок может найти несколько предметов, разбросанных по школе, которые могут помочь ему сбежать от Балди (например: ножницы, б-соду, которую можно купить за четвертак и т. д.). После того, как игрок соберёт все семь тетрадей, Балди сначала поздравит игрока, а потом заорёт, чтобы он бежал, пока ещё может и посмеётся над ним, выслеживая его. The main inspiration of Baldi’s Basics in Education & Learning is ’90s edutainment games such as Sonic’s Schoolhouse, as well as pulling «the game is not what it seems» gimmick. The game, despite being placed in 2nd, has been recently getting high critical praise from its fans, even making mods for the game and fangames.

Most people who didn’t get that the game was bad on purpose gave overwhelmingly negative reviews and negative reactions, while people who took the game as the horror parody it was supposed to be, for the most part, reacted positively, which led to the game even getting its own fandom and cult-following.

How to Download & Install Baldi’s Basics Plus

1. Click the Download button below and you should be redirected to UploadHaven.
2. Wait 5 seconds and click on the blue ‘download now’ button. Now let the download begin and wait for it to finish.
3. Once Baldi’s Basics Plus is done downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to Baldis.Basics.Plus.v0.3.8.zip” (To do this you must have 7-Zip, which you can get here).
4. Double click inside the Baldi’s Basics Plus folder and run the exe application.
5. Have fun and play! Make sure to run the game as administrator and if you get any missing dll errors, look for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in the folder.

Друг игрока забывает в Школе свои тетради. Он не может забрать тетради сам, так как опаздывает на курсы по поеданию пищи, и поэтому просит сделать это игрока.

Текст в разделе «Как играть»:

«О нет! Уроки в школе закончились, но у твоего друга беда! Он забыл все свои тетрадки в школе, и у него нет времени забрать их, потому что он может опоздать на курсы по поеданию сыра. Чтобы помочь ему, тебе надо обратно вернуться в школу и найти все 7 тетрадей за него. Это будет не так легко, как ты думаешь! Балди любит бросать вызов его ученикам, задавая весёлые простенькие задачки! Каждый раз, когда ты находишь тетрадку, тебе надо будет ответить на несколько вопросов. Ответь на все три правильно, и ты получишь приз! Найди все 7 тетрадок, а затем покинь школу, чтобы выиграть!»

Однако, школьный учитель, Балди, не даст забрать тетради просто так. Чтобы получить каждый из блокнотов, игроку предстоит решить три математических примера. Решив все примеры правильно, игрок получит подарок от Балди.

Начиная со второй тетрадки, третий пример во всех тетрадях становится нерешаемым. Неспособность игрока дать правильный ответ злит учителя по имени Балди, и тот пускается за ним в погоню, чтобы жестоко наказать своей линейкой, которой шлёпает во время своего движения. В этой обстановке игрок должен собрать оставшиеся пять тетрадей, преодолевая на своём пути различные препятствия, избегая других персонажей, мешающих ему продвигаться и не давая Балди догнать себя.

Персонажи

• Балди (Baldi) — наибольший злодей в игре, который будет вас преследовать всю игру со злобной линейкой в руках. Каждые открытые вами двери будут помогать учителю разыскивать вас еще быстрее.
• Директор школы (Principal of the Thing). Нейтральный персонаж, который следить за тем, чтобы в школе не нарушали правила. Так, если вы будете бегать в его присутствие, то он может вас запереть на 15 секунд в своем кабинете для объяснительной работы. С каждой вашей поимкой, время прибывания в кабинете будет увеличиваться на 15 секунд, что в конечном итоге может сыграть с вами в плохую шутку. Кроме этого, директор может задержать и Булли за плохое поведение, что может быть вам только на руку.
• Играющая девочка (Playtime). Нейтральный персонаж останавливающий главного героя для игры с ней. Чтобы она вас отпустила вам нужно пять раз попрыгать в скакалку. Если вы хотите побыстрее уйти от нее, то вам нужен такой предмет, как ножницы.
• Gotta Sweep (Готта СВИП) — персонаж в форме метлы, которая просто с огромной скоростью сносит все на своем пути. Она может, как помочь вам оттолкнув антагонистов игры, так и навредить приблизив к ним.
• Это Булли (It’s a Bully) — также, как и главный антогонист игры будет мешать вам выполнять задания. Хотя он и довольно плохо выглядит, но это ему не помешает блокировать проход и отнимать у вас вещи вашего инвентаря. За одну встречу с ним вы потеряете одну какую-то собранную вами вещь.
• Кукла из носка (Arts and Crafters). На начальных этапах этот персонаж вам не сделает ничего плохого, но как только вы соберете 7 тетрадей, то персонаж станет довольно агрессивным и при каждой встрече телепортирует вас к Baldi.
• Робот с научной выставки (1st Prize). Нейтральный персонаж, который работает, также как и Готта СВИП пытаясь обнять он толкает все на своем пути. Чтобы избавится у него используйте ножницы.

Автор игры mystman12 вдохновившись жутко-плохими развлекательными играми с 90-х (Sonic’s Schoolhouse, IM Meen, 3D Dinosaur Adventure: Save the Dinosaurs создал на первый взгляд совершенно невинную игру помогающею решать задачки, но после нескольких секунд все становится ясно — это не развлечение, а ВЫЖИВАНИЕ. Соберите все 7 зошитов и выйдите из школы, избегая Балди.

У Baldi много друзей в школе, что замедлит ваш прогресс и поставит вас под угрозу быть пойманным, так что узнайте, как работает каждый персонаж, и каким образом вы сможете избежать их внимания. Найдите и используйте предметы в своих интересах. О, и, наконец, постарайтесь не ошибиться в ответах на викторину. Каждый неправильный ответ заставляет Балди злится и ускоряет его поиски вашей заблудшей души.

Управления на компьютере

• Используйте клавиши WASD (ЦФЫА) для перемещения, а мышь — для поворота.
• Щелкните левой кнопкой мыши, чтобы открыть двери и выбрать предметы.
• Щелкните правой кнопкой мыши, чтобы использовать выбранный элемент.
• Колесо прокрутки мыши позволяет изменить выбранный элемент.

Предметы

• Тетрадь. Наиболее важный предмет в игре. Нужно собрать 7 тетрадей в каждой из которых решить по три примера. Последнюю задачу в каждой тетради решить просто не возможно, так что смеритесь  этим.
• Ключи Директора. Если вы найдете ключи от кабинета директора, то сможете убежать от туда, когда  Principal of the Thing поймает вас за нарушения правил, как правило — это бег по школе.
• Монетка Четвертак. Ее можно найти по всей школе или вам ее даст Балди за правильные ответы на решения в первой тетради. Используя монету вы можете купить BSoda, а также можете вставить кассету в телефон.
• Замок. С помощью замка вы можете заблокировать любую желтую дверь для всех персонажей в том числе и для вас.
• Кассета. Ее можно вставлять в магнитолу (проигрыватель) или телефон. Чтобы найти проигрыватель вам нужно будет направится в учительскою, а телефон вы сможете найти возле столовой. Используя проигрыватель вы в любой момент сможете отогнать от себя Baldi.
• BSoda — очень полезное питье, открыв которую вы сможете оттолкнуть Балди к ближайшей стене. Как сообщалось выше ее можно купить за монетку в вендинговом автомате или же отправится на ее поиски в столовую.
• Энергетический батончик (Energy Flavored Zesty Bar). Найдя и употребив такой батончик ваш персонаж сможет бегать и не терять энергии. Его можно найти, как в классах, так и в столовой.
• Ножницы. Очень полезный инструмент способный обезопасит вас от таких персонажей, как  девочка  Playtime или 1st Prize.
• Смазка дверей WD-NoSquee. Смазав двери она перестанет скрипеть, что еще больше заплутает Балди и даст вам возможность выиграть некоторое время для решения примеров.

Baldi’s Basics: How Basically Games Crafted a Hit

Baldi’s Basics (also named Baldi’s Basics in Education and Learning) is an exciting parody survival horror game that is set inside a creepy schoolhouse! Micah McGonigal, an American independent developer, created Baldi’s Basics under the handle Mystman12. The protagonist is welcomed to class by a goofy-looking primary school instructor. The environment is bright and well-lit, and the music is upbeat. Nothing appears to be dangerous or concerning at first. However, something creepy and terrifying is going on behind the scenes. Only the most courageous people will be able to face what lies ahead. This game mimics educational games from the 1990s by using monstrous graphics and similar themes (such as Sonic’s Schoolhouse, I.M. Meer, and 3D Dinosaur Adventure).

Developed by indie studio Basically Games, Baldi’s Basics puts a darkly humorous spin on the entertainment genre. Players take on the role of a student in a strange school full of educational puzzles and creepy characters like the ruler-wielding title principal, Baldi. With its minimalist graphics and unsettling atmosphere, Baldi’s Basics has captivated horror fans worldwide since its 2018 launch.

Storyline

A friend of the main character misplaced seven notebooks but was unable to get them because he was busy «rehearsing.» So he had to ask the protagonist to go to the local school and grab them for him. When the player first comes, he meets one of the professors named Baldi, who will present simple arithmetic problems in the form of riddles every time the player uncovers a notebook (three in each book), with the promise of a reward if all of these quizzes are correctly solved. Baldi also gets angry easily, and after posing issues to the player, this teacher will start chasing that player for the wrong answer. The protagonist is obliged to continue seeking out additional notebooks while avoiding other students and a variety of challenges. If players answer every question incorrectly, they face the frightening tutor’s fury. That’s when the real nightmare begins!

Baldi’s Basics has gameplay similar to that of Slender: The Eight Pages. The player must locate all seven notebooks while escaping Baldi’s capture. Other students and teachers try to undermine the player by asking them to participate in various activities. Each notebook has three straightforward arithmetic problems; however, the third question is unsolvable after the second notebook. Baldi seems to move faster and is much more difficult to avoid if the player continues to fail at impossible requests. After collecting all of the notebooks, Baldi will seem to cheer the player before adding, «get out while there’s still time!». The game has a total of three exits, but only one is real, and the player must figure out how to activate all three exits before the real exit can be used.

Players can collect various items around the school, such as a candy bar that momentarily enhances the main character’s stamina and a soft drink that can be used to knock some subjects away. Other characters in the game include a pair of scissors that can temporarily remove certain obstacles and a teleporter that will move the player to a random spot on the field. What lies beyond the curtain, and who made it? Discover the darkest secrets and strive to survive to finish the narrative. Remember that Baldi can hear every noise you make, so do everything you can to keep quiet!

Alternate Ending

If you answer all the questions wrong, you will have an alternative ending. It has an expanded and rotated version of Baldi and another hidden character, Null (formerly known as Filename2); you must destroy the game before it closes itself.

• One of the official images found in McGonigal’s previous tweets back during the game’s development shows that there were going to be more subjects than just math, including science, spelling, history, geography, and geology, the creator claims that he won’t be adding any of those back in though.
• The game is mostly made of 2D objects. Desks, lockers, chairs, tables, Zesty Machine and the BSODA Machine are the only 3D models.

• The game became part of a game chain that contains other popular games. Baldi’s Basics

  As of February 1st, the game has an official mobile port, which can be downloaded on the game’s itch.io page.

• Two of the game’s characters, It’s a Bully and Baldi himself were characters created by McGonigal during his childhood, years before the game was conceived.
• McGonigal created the game entirely by himself in only 2 weeks.
• There is a chance that the Principal of the Thing could actually be a poorly edited photograph of mystman12 himself. It is not confirmed, but it is assumed to be him.
• McGonigal provides almost all of the voices in the game, with the exception of 1st Prize, who is voiced by a text to speech program.
• In the game’s files, you can find many unused sounds. For example, two sound clips for The Principal Of The Thing intended for a character that would immobilize the player while stabbing them and look into others’ lockers, Playtime would give you instructions on how to do the jump rope (which was unused due to it increasing the difficulty and not being necessary) and the jumps you are required for Playtime to let you go was going to be 10 instead of 5 (likely for the same reason the instructions went unused). Luckily, you can use a mod (Baldi’s BRUTAL Basics) that makes the game harder and puts the 10 jumps requirement back in.
• There are good mods for this game, like Baldi’s Basics: The Old Laboratory, Cutman’s Clues in Boo Boo Stuff, The School, Retro’s Basics in Fun Activities (the first decompile mod), and the infamous Garfelf’s Guide series.
• According to mystman12, Principal of the Thing is in fact wearing a yellow bow-tie, but it is extremely hard to see because he uses very few colors to dither the Principal’s image, as Principal’s skin color is very similar to the color of his bow-tie. It is located on his neck and can more clearly be seen in his merchandise items.

(Intentional) Bad Qualities[edit | edit source]

NOTE: This game is made as a joke, and is intentionally meant to be bad.

1. The music is just MIDI files, despite being released in 2018.
2. The title screen is poorly made (as seen in the infobox).
3. Horrible graphics and the character designs are very ugly. Baldi himself looks like he came from the 1980s despite being in a 1990s inspired game.
4. The 3rd question of every notebook starting with Notebook #2 is always the same thing, as it is always glitched up. No matter what answer you type in, it will always be classified as wrong.
5. Whenever you get a math question wrong, Baldi will get mad at you over getting a question wrong, even if you were trying to get it right in the first place.
6. There are some annoying characters during the gameplay.
   • Playtime is extremely annoying. Every time you run into her, you have to play jump rope, and if you miss one jump, you have to do it over again. Luckily, you can use Safety Scissors to cut her jump rope.
   • It’s A Bully is also annoying. He completely blocks the path which prevents you running from Baldi, unless you have any item or if the Principal is near.
   • Sometimes, some characters (example: Gotta Sweep) speak extremely loud, in fact, you can still hear their voices whenever they yell even if your volume is low.
   • The Principal of the Thing is very annoying as even when he clearly sees your about to get caught by Baldi, he still locks you in the Principal’s Office, and after the 30 seconds detention, you’re likely going to get caught anyway.
     • However The Principal can be useful for escaping Baldi when being chased and you are far from the Office.
     • By using the Principal’s Keys, you can use them to get out of detention early, as long as he is not near the Office.
7. Using Baldi’s Least Favorite Tape on the Tape Player, and using a Quarter on the Noise Phone distracts Baldi, but it is kind of worthless since you can use BSODA right away, which pushes characters away.
8. Quarters pop out of nowhere whenever you are playing the game, but they are useful at times.
9. The unbearable voice acting. Some voices are filled to the brim with ear rape and most of them have no emotion or charm to them.
10. The game has really bad, but mostly awful looking animation, especially by modern standards.
11. The game feels more like a Friv game than an actual video game.
12. The game is somewhat a rip off of Slender. Basically, it’s Slender, but in a school setting (which has been done already).
13. The audio can become distorted and extremely loud, especially after finding all 7 notebooks.
14. If you ignore all the ear rape, there is literally nothing scary about the game.
15. The game isn’t even a horror game as much as the only horror thing is the jumpscare and that’s it and in other words it looks like a generic regular game.
16. The skybox is horrible. In fact, it’s not even a sky, it’s just walls and a roof textured as a sky.

Public Demoedit | edit source

1. 1st Prize isn’t featured in the game at all, other than being seen in a room deactivated.
2. The audio quality is even worse than the original game.
3. Gotta Sweep doesn’t have a Janitor’s Closet, instead residing in a faculty room.
4. Boring gameplay.
5. The game doesn’t close instantly when you hit the exit button.
6. Some textures are placeholders. This is a demo though, but there’s a little too many.
7. Playtime is too easy to run away from, as in the original game, she can sometimes go in the same direction, trying to chase you, now she always turns around when you get out of her sight, removing challenge from the game.
8. An Apple for Baldi removes even more challenge from the game, additionally, Baldi still proceeds to go after the player for no reason after eating said apple.
9. There is no reason for Baldi to chase the player in this demo, as there is no You Can Think! Pad in this version.
10. The conveyor belt slows the player down too much.
11. Several items from the original game were removed.
12. Baldi’s broken ruler event makes no sense, as Baldi is just slapping nothing, making it difficult for the player to hear where he is.
13. The Elevator, which is yet another placeholder, is misspelled as “ELEVATE“, though this typo could be done on purpose.
14. The test procedure random event has a broken countdown system, starting from 0, then going from 9 to 1.
15. The graphics aren’t as good as Baldi’s Basics Classic.
16. The map feels extremely repetitive after a while.
17. Some characters were removed, such as Filename2.
18. The Kickstarter Demo has far more content than this game which is supposed to be a full game demo, the Public Demo doesn’t even have a random level generator and several features from the original game are missing.
