About life
In the record of the director Yanovskaya morethirty productions. She does not often produce performances. This happens not more than once a year, and maybe even less often. And yet she has a lot of ideas, ideas and plans. It is in demand, and is not afraid of competition from the youth.
At the 75th year of life, a woman frankly admits, that even at such a mature age, she does not understand everything in this life, not all secrets are revealed. Henrietta Yanovskaya, whose family is her husband, still lays the lion’s share of her time in the profession. There she draws inspiration, strength, wisdom. Yanovsky and Ginkas have a son, however, he chose a spiritual path for himself and lives now in another city, far from his parents.
Choosing a creative way
Recalling his communication with Tovstonogov, Henriettasays that at first she could not get used to the fact that she was next to a great man. The girl listened to him, opening her mouth, and each time she pulled herself up, realizing where he was and where she was. Tovstonogov is a representative of totalitarian theater art. He is great, but his character is very difficult. Working with the director was difficult, but terribly interesting — studying at the maestro brought incredible pleasure.
At the institute, fate brought a girl with her classmate — Kama Ginkas, he later became for Yanovskaya all — and her husband, and shoulder, and colleague in the shop (Kama Ginkas — theater director).

Yanovskaya Henrietta Naumovna
Henrietta Yanovskaya, whose photos resembled Hollywood actresses, could have become a wonderful theater artist, all the data was with her. Only one quality prevented her from taking place in the acting profession — excessive love of freedom. She could not obey someone else’s will, Yanovskaya was the leader. Nature rewarded a woman with beauty, but Henrietta Yanovskaya never really got hung up on this. Height, weight, diet — these questions did not bother a pretty girl. She almost immediately brushed aside the work of an actress, deciding to look for inspiration in directing. And I was not mistaken. And what is even more paradoxical is that Henrietta Naumovna managed to develop her directorial gift in a difficult time (during the Sovietera), when everyone was humiliated and crushed, not to mention women.

Arguing about the contemporary directors who come to the profession today, Yanovskaya notes that they are trying too fast to cover everything — they are taking risks, they are in a hurry. This, of course, is not bad — fresh energy, the spirit of youth has never prevented anyone from achieving the goals. However, according to the master of the direction of Yanovskaya, this is not enough. In order to create something truthful, catching the viewer, knowledge, experience and suffering are needed. And for this you need at least some amount to live in the world.

Work in Moscow
Since 1984, a new stage began in the life of Henrietta Yanovskaya, when the director presented her production of The Widow’s Steamboat to the Moscow public at the Mossovet Theatre. The play turned out to be very successful. However, the performance “Heart of a Dog” based onMikhail Bulgakov. The theatrical season of 1986-1987 was remembered for the triumphal premiere of this performance. By the way, the production of «Heart of a Dog» is considered one of the best for the entire period of perestroika. And the writer Mikhail Bulgakov is the closest author to Yanovskaya.

Later there was another wonderful staging of the play — «Thunderstorm» according to Ostrovsky, where Henrietta Naumovna conveyed her vision of the world, her view of the characters, which in many respects did not coincide with the stereotypical opinion that had been established before. For this performance, Yanovskaya was nominated for the State Prize.
Since 1986, Henrietta Naumovna has directed the Moscow Theater for Young Spectators, she is its chief director. I must say that with the advent of Yanovskaya in the Youth Theater, everything has changed radically. The woman did not plan to make a revolution in theatrical art. She wanted to correct something, but was not going to radically change everything. However, today the Moscow Youth Theater is something new, different from the theater in its usual sense.
Henrietta Yanovskaya — who is she?
Henrietta Yanovsku can be called without fear a great theater director, incredibly talented, with an individual and unmatched style, energy, intelligibility. The profession of the director is a complicated profession and, in principle, not a woman, requiring a persistent character, a hard hand and an iron will. And when a woman took part in this profession, she not only survived, but breathed into the theatrical life something new, hitherto untested, made a breakthrough, created something unlike anything else-a talent that not everyone can use even if there is one.
Henrietta Yanovskaya, whose biography begins in Leningrad, was born not long before the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, in June 1940. In 1967 she graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinema. I must say that she was lucky to get on the course of GA Tovstonogov — a talented director, which ones. And this largely determined the nature of the girl herself and formed the backbone and basic postulates of her as a theater director.

Each performance is a hard-won story
In the life of Henrietta Yanovsky there were different periods, there were both ups and downs. She is familiar with the situation when there is no work, and there is an emptiness around which one has to fill something. In the period of lack of money Yanovskaya knitted — consistently, scrupulously, bit by bit — and fed the whole family. Maybe that’s why the director thinks that every theatrical production must be perfected — to suffer, to survive, to drink to the bottom. That is why, probably, after each performance, the director feels a temporary loss of strength and devastation of the soul.
Speaking about theatrical productions in general, Yanovskaya compares them to a cone, the top of which is the director’s idea; The fact from which he repels. The task of each leader is to do everything possible to make the effect of the production as far as possible dissipate in space, like the base of this figure. And every point on the surface of the cone is the perception of the situation by each individual viewer. Each has its own, different from the perception of the other and from the original idea and the director’s thoughts, too. Only such a model will make sense, only on this principle the theater will work.
About the theater
Today the Moscow Theater of Young People is a wonderful theater, but he is not at all childish, or rather, he is not just for children. In the daytime, the actors of the troupe instill love for art to a small spectator, but in the evening the performance gathers adults in its hall and tells about serious life issues, problems of the individual and society as a whole. Moscow Youth Theater is a family theater, because the director of the performances is the husband of Yanovsky — Kama Ginkas.
Yanovskaya Henrietta Naumovna loves to think aboutmodern theater, its role in the life of every person, the modern spectator. For example, the director believes that the old theater, as something great and intriguing, has disappeared forever. More correctly, that audience, intelligent, who demanded something big, educated, sublime, disappeared. Today everything has become much simpler, the attitude to the theater is different — people consider it entertainment and go to plays more often than in the cinema or at concerts of performers.
But, in spite of everything, the productions of Yanovskyfind their true connoisseur. Colleagues on the shop say that in Henrietta Naumovna’s plays they are immersed in the story, told from the stage, do not pay attention to the details, do not analyze, they do not think — they are just emotionally perceived. And this is the sign of the greatest director’s skill.
Confession
In 1987 Yanovskaya took the post of chief director at the Moscow Theater for the Young Spectator. The actors presented their first production based on Bulgakov’s «Heart of a Dog» in 1987. It turned into a notable event in the season. Ostrovsky’s Thunderstorm became a new triumph. In the play, Yanovskaya’s version conveys her vision of the world, a look at the heroes. In many ways, the concepts contradicted the traditional ones. For her work, Henrietta Naumovna was nominated for the State Prize.
Although she was not going to carry out radical changes in the MTYUZ, the theater was transformed into something completely new under her leadership. He ceased to be only childish. His evening performances were addressed to adult connoisseurs of art. They spoke from the stage about serious problems, life values, society and personality. It was directed by Kama Ginkas.
Yanovskaya more than once admitted with chagrin in an interview that the theater had turned into entertainment, intrigue and greatness had disappeared from it. However, despite the departure of the sublime audience, true fans of the director’s talent remain.
The audience is completely immersed in the master’s performances in the story told by him. In this case, the perception is only at the emotional level. No analysis or attention to detail is needed. This presentation is the hallmark of true mastery of the production.
Henrietta Yanovskaya: biography, creativity, career, personal life
Each performance Henrietta Naumovna lives and experiences herself again and again. She is sure that every production must be brought to the ideal. Therefore, after each show, Yanovskaya feels a feeling of spiritual emptiness. She calls her works cones, the top of which is an idea, from which she starts as a director. And the master calls his task everything possible to disperse the effect of the performances in space.
About the theater
Today the Moscow Youth Theater is a wonderful theater, but it is not at all for children, or rather, it is not only for children. Rather, that audience disappeared, intelligent, demanding something big, educated, sublime. Today, everything has become much simpler, the attitude towards the theater is different — people consider it entertainment and go to performances more often than to the cinema or to concerts of pop artists.
But, in spite of everything, Yanovskaya’s performances find their true connoisseur. Colleagues in the workshop claim that at the performances of Henrietta Naumovna they plunge headlong into the story that they tell from the stage, do not pay attention to details, do not analyze, do not think — they simply perceive emotionally. And that is the mark of great directorial skill.
Bright debuts
The debut was a production at the regional Maly Drama Theater with Zorin’s play «Warsaw Melody» in 1967 immediately after graduation. Then the former student was convinced that she had chosen the case correctly.
During her studies, a talented girl managed to arrange her personal life. Her fellow student Kama (Kalman) Ginkas became her chosen one. Together with him, his wife went to work in Krasnoyarsk, where her husband headed the Theater of the Young Spectator. Yanovskaya also worked there from 1970 to 1972.
Her first work in a new place was the play «The Miracle Worker». Its main character was a deaf-mute girl and the story of her training. The production immediately showed that as a director, Yanovskaya is not like anyone else. Then there were performances of plays by many famous Russian and foreign playwrights. In different cities of the country.
In the late seventies, Henrietta Naumovna headed the troupe of the «Blue Bridge», the theater of Leningrad. In 1984 she made her successful debut on the Moscow stage at the Mossovet Theater with the play «The Widow Steamer».
Henrietta Yanovskaya: biography, creativity, career, personal life

Beginning of the director’s profession
Director’s debut Yanovsky took place in the Leningrad Regional Maly Drama Theater in 1967. It was the production of L. Zorin’s play «The Warsaw Melody». However, work in the city of childhood on this was over. Yanovskaya went to Krasnoyarsk, following her husband. But here it should be said that the girl did not go to another city from despair — on the contrary, she rushed there with full confidence that this city will be the center of the universe, because it will be Yanovskaya and Ginkas — it is with this energy charge that this beautiful young woman Went to meet his fate.
Kama Ginkas headed the Young Spectator Theater in Krasnoyarsk, where Henriette Yanovsky worked for two years, from 1970 to 1972.

The director’s work of this production clearly showed that Yanovskaya in its natural essence does not look like anyone, it stands apart from all the other directors.
